FLUID INCLUSION ANALYSES

Fluid inclusion analyses are performed on two group of minerals, transparent and non-transparent. Minerals should not be below a certain crystal size. Samples containing minerals with a crystal size of at least 3 mm and above should be ed in order to perform fluid inclusion analyzes properly. Sample sizes may not be suitable for the analysis.

Studies related to the type of mineralization, sample’s age and it’s origin of mineralization must be known. Vein type mineralizations require systematic sampling. The suitability of the samples for analysis is entirely in the responsibility of the sampler.

Collected samples must represent the area(field) it has been taken or the aim of the study as best as possible.

Samples must have a “Sampling Label” sticker on them by the person who requests the Organic Coal Petrographic Analyses. Each label sticker must have appropriate info that includes the sample mark, type and the information necessary for the analysis. The sample mark, must also be written on the Analysis/Test Application Form.

One sample mark belongs to only one sample. There should be no two different samples with the same mark. Otherwise, the samples will not be processed.

If more than one analysis/test will be performed on a sample, depending on the analysis type and amount, the samples size must be increased.

Samples must be brought in a clean, thick transparent plastic bag or in a sturdy cloth bag.

Most appropriate transparent minerals for this tests are quartz, fluorite, barite, calcite and celestine. Other translucent minerals can also be analyzed as long as the sample is appropriate for fluid inclusion analysis.

Metalic minerals that are non-transparent are performed with the use of an IR (infrared) camera for specific metallic ores. These minerals could be such as Pyrite, Molibdenite, Enargite, Chalcosine, Stibnite, Cinnabar, Sphalerite, Wolframite with appropriate crystal sizes.

Fluid Inclusion Analysis in Transparent Minerals

Homogenization temperatures and solution salinity values are determined the fluid inclusions within the minerals such as Quartz, Calcite, Fluorite, Barite, Celestine with suitable crystal size and sufficient inclusions.

A max of 3 (three) samples are accepted with a single Analysis/Test application form.

Before the application for the analysis, contact with the Sample Acceptance Unit is required to get an appointment.

Upon the acceptance of the sample, according to the appointment plan, analysis duration is determined and the client is informed.

Massive well crystallized sample with sizes of at least 2x2x2 cm, at most 5x5x5 cm
