Professor Steve Sparks

Professor Steve Sparks is a world leader in volcanology, with wide-ranging interdisciplinary research integrating geological and volcanological field observations, analytical data, modelling and statistical approaches. He has led the development of new approaches to risk assessment, engaged with public outreach and advised authorities and national institutions during volcanic emergencies.
Mr Gökhan Atıcı

Mr Gökhan Atici is an expert in volcanism in Turkey, with research focused on Turkey’s recent volcanic activity and ignimbrite emplacement in Cappadocia. He has been conducted studies on volcano monitoring methods at the Vesuvius Observatory in Naples, Italy. He has experience in field geology, petrology, geochemistry and tephrochronology. He has been worked as a reserach asistant at Hacettepe Universtiy. He is a Geological Engineer at MTA and Head of the Turkish National Commission for Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth’s Interior (TUVAK) now.
