Paleontology Department

Aim and Scope

The main aim of this study is to investigate the fossil assemblages that have not yet been explored in the Paleogene marine and terrestrial units, which are exposed in Turkey and to provide valuable specimens for our Museum’s archive  Geological studies contribute to the determination of the regional stratigraphy by the identified fossils and studies are carried out to reveal paleogeographic, paleoecological and paleo-clastic changes related to the region.
