Natural Cave Model
The large voids formed by the waters that leak underground along the cracks in the calcareous land are called caves. Stalactites, stalagmites and pillars are formed by the precipitation of CaCO3 rich waters.
The stalactites occur by the deposition of the calcium carbonate rich waters in the ceiling of the cave. Stalagmites form when water droplets deposit on the cave floor, pillars are formed when stalactites merge with stalagmites.
On the second floor of the museum there is a natural cave model. In the cave model, stalactites, stalagmites and pillars were designed and illuminated in a way that is close to reality.
