Meteorities
The meteorites and tektites which are compiled from various parts of the world are exhibited in the meteorites showcase on the entry floor of the museum. Most of the meteorites come from Asteroid Belt which is located among Earth, Mars and Jupiter. When the orbit of the meteorite and the orbit of the Earth coincide, the meteorite put into the Earth's gravity and falls into the Earth. There are three types of meteorites: stone meteorites, metal meteorites and mixed meteorites. The largest meteorite exhibited in the museum is the meteorite which fell in Sivas-Yıldızeli-Şeyh Halil Village in 1989.
